Social apps the way they’re meant to be. Authentic, caring and sustainable.
Verse Communications is a Public Benefit Corporation.
Verse was founded by Evan Henshaw-Plath, aka @Rabble, Twitter’s first employee.
Verse’s mission is to provide social technologies and apps that the public can co-build, and to mitigate the harm of private ownership of social identities and data. We believe in a future where people everywhere are empowered to create positive social change.

Our Beliefs
We deserve better.
Our digital spaces have become increasingly toxic and hostile to genuine community needs. The early promise of social media has been subverted by a business model that treats human connection as a commodity to be monetized.
Time for change.
We are actively spearheading the development of a new Social Media Bill of Rights that provides developers with clear operating principles, and offers users clarity around what to expand and demand from the apps they use, support and engage with.
Open protocols.
Just as the internet and email are built on open protocols, we believe our social spaces should exist on open protocols. In this way communities can connect across apps while co-designing systems and maintaining control and self-governance.
What We’re Building
Creating the future of social apps.
At Verse we value constant innovation and iteration to better serve users. To-date we have released a handful of apps including, most recently, Nos.
You can learn more about the Nos social app at: nos.social.
- Nos is built on Nostr, a decentralized, user-led protocol.
- Traditional social media ads treat you as the product, focusing on ad revenues, profits and engagement metrics.
- Nos is designed to be a social app that puts you in control.
